Welcome
This site was assembled by the Wisconsin Deer Management Unit (DMU) Stakeholder Review Panel with support from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Both deer hunters and non-hunters were encouraged to attend a Public Deer Management Unit Informational meeting (public meeting) in their county.
Update: Public Input on Proposed Rule Changes
The DNR will open an online public input form in August 2009 to gather responses on the final DMU population goals and boundary changes being recommended. Clicking the August 15 2009 Online Public Comment button below provides more information.
Update: Summer 2009 NRB Advisory Committee - EAB Alternatives
The Natural Resources Board (NRB) tasked a volunteer Committee to identify alternative herd control methods that could serve as a viable alternative for the Earn-A-Buck incentive. Clicking the link below will go to that Advisory Committee's website where more information is available.
DMU Panel Recomendations and Report Information
The Public Stakeholder DMU Review Panel's report to the Deer Commitee is now available:
Stakeholder Panel Report Report Cover Letter DNR Secretary Response
A comment form was handed out during public meetings to gather public input on specific DMU population goal and boundary change concepts. This was also completed online using the Public Comment link below.
An online questionnaire was used to gather general input on deer management. This was only available online via the link below.
The online public input forms were closed at the end of March 2009. Results from these were posted here the first week of April 2009 with the exception that any personal identifiable data of respondents will be removed beforehand. You can view the online forms by selecting either the Public Comment or Public Questionnaire buttons below.
We hope this site is useful for you and you are invited to review the Stakeholder Panel's work under Panel Website along useful DNR provided reference materials under DMU Information.
